Senior Field Guide

A renowned and well-established private game reserve in northern KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an experienced Senior Field Guide to join its guiding team. This opportunity is ideal for a passionate and professional guide who thrives in a conservation-focused, guest-centric environment and is ready to take on a leadership role in guiding excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Deliver exceptional guided experiences on foot and in vehicle within a Big 5 environment.

Contribute to conservation interpretation, guest engagement, and safety.

Mentor junior guides and contribute to team training and development.

Maintain high standards of ethical guiding, reserve knowledge, and bush etiquette.

Participate in ecological monitoring, reserve duties, and community engagement where required.

Represent the values of responsible tourism and sustainable guiding.

Requirements

Nature Site Guide Level 2 (or higher)

Full Trails Guide qualification (back-up and lead rifle hours completed)

Valid ARH, PDP, First Aid Level 1

DEAT registered and compliant with CATHSSETA requirements

Minimum 5 years' guiding experience in a Big 5 environment

Strong communication skills and a professional presence

A deep appreciation for conservation and cultural heritage

Ability to work in a remote bush environment on a full-time basis
