Explosive Operator

Our client in the mining industry is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious ExplosiveOperator to support daily site operations.

The role involves handling and operatingMobile Manufacturing Units (MMUs), Assisting With Plant Maintenance, And Ensuring Strict Adherence To Explosives Safety Standards And Regulatory Requirements.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For But Not Limited To The Following : Comply with all Customer rules and procedures when operating at Customer sitesAssist the Explosives Controller to conduct routine fault finding, trouble shooting, maintenance and repairs on the MMU process plant and chassisAssist the Site Administrator with stock controlLoad and unload the MMU with the correct raw materialsUnload raw materials (emulsion Matrix and Expan tankers)Cleaning and decontamination of MMU.Identification of any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and reporting thereof to the Explosives Controller and / or Site SupervisorMaintain ownership of bulk explosives MMU by conducting good housekeeping of the cab, chassis and plant.Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of any spillage in the correct waste streamsEnsure correct PPE is used; is in good condition and is correctly always worn.Housekeeping of work areaIdentify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately (Hirac & Risk Assessment).Requirements : Must have Grade 12Must have 1-2 years' experience in the mining or similar environmentPossession of a valid code C Driver's license (Advantageous)Blasting Assistant Certificate (Advantageous)Competency A Certificate (Advantageous)Knowledge of relevant hand toolsKnowledge of emergency proceduresComply to the Mine`s safety and health proceduresAttend to mines induction trainingMaintain basic safety, health and environment issuesAssess the product application practicesIdentify incorrect product application practicesDemonstrate and coach the correct practicesDesired Skills : MS Office
