Senior Mine Manager

Overview

Key Responsibilities :

Oversee all aspects of the mining operation, including production, safety, budgeting, and personnel management

Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs

Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies

Manage a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators to achieve production targets

Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance and logistics, to ensure smooth operations

Report regularly to senior management on production, safety, and financial performance

Identify and implement improvements to process and equipment to increase productivity and profitability

Develop and mentor junior staff members to facilitate career growth and succession planning

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field

Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency

Minimum of 10 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 5 years in a management role

Strong knowledge of mining regulations and best practices

Proven track record of achieving production targets while maintaining a high standard of safety

Excellent leadership and communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances

Willingness to travel and work in remote locations as needed

Benefits :

Salary : R2.4m – R2.8m
