The Role

The Planner is jointly responsible for establishing and embedding the Sites pro-active maintenance program on Equipment, being primarily responsible to specify the procedures, risk assessments, tooling and other requirements for secondary maintenance tasks such as component replacements, planning approved work and ensuring that the maintenance tactics are revised routinely and is effective in its outputs and results. The Planner enables the Asset Management Teams to deliver the ‘Right Maintenance, the Right Way, at the Right Time’ thereby providing the Production Teams with safe, reliable and cost-effective production capacity. Is co-responsible for the quality of planning, monitoring and assessing condition monitoring principles and continuous improvement of the same, based on data analysis and prompting from the maintenance, production and asset management personnel. Extracts value from SAP

PM for the Section Engineer and his / her Foremen in terms of equipment and Work Management performance reports. The role is also responsible for prompting and participating in Analyze and Improve (A&I) and Defect elimination activities.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Facilitate repair and return on Supplier major components.
  • Compile performance & status reports for relevant key role-players on an ongoing basis
  • Regularly update equipment & spares register on the planning system according to the department’s needs
  • One SAP CMMS audit per annum (Capability and Data Integrity audit);
  • Monitoring age of fleet.
  • Ensuring that the appropriate Rebuild / Replacement Philosophy is Implemented.
  • Track and report Maintenance Schedule compliance.
  • Advise on optimising Maintenance Schedules where required.
  • Tracking and tracing of components fitted for warranty administration; and
  • Processing of warranty claims.
  • Develop detailed planning for secondary maintenance tasks (detailed procedures, risk assessments, parts requirements, tooling requirements, supporting equipment etc.)

Profile Required :

  • Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification / Equivalent qualification
  • Trade Certificate (advantageous)
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering Qualification (advantageous)
  • Advanced Computer literacy
  • Project Management Certificate (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Core Application systems
  • Management / Supervisory experience (advantageous)
  • English proficiency
  • Experience in maintenance planning (3 years)
  • Inventory Planning and Management
  • Trackless mining experience (advantageous)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Physical & Medical ability to function in an underground mining environment
  • Will be required to travel
  • After hours remote support may be required
