Job Position : Senior Quantity Surveyor (Construction)Ref : Location : Eastern CapeSalary : Negotiable commensurate with qualification and experienceQualifications / certifications required :

  • Tertiary Degree
  • Professional registration : ASAQS / MBA and South African Council for the Quantity Surveying profession
  • Minimum of 10 years technical experience, of which at least 2 years need to be in a senior role
  • Willing to travel to sites
  • Ability to cope with heavy workload and long hoursIT skills :
  • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Navigating on virtual meeting platformsSystems and software skills :
  • BuildSmart (basic)
  • Candy / CSS programming (advanced)
  • Lean Programme (advanced)
  • OneDrive and Bos (advanced)
  • SharePoint (advanced)Technical skills :
  • Advise on legalities and common law requirements
  • Capital expenditure
  • Commercial law and common law
  • Compilation of legal claims
  • Compilation of reports
  • Contracts amendments, bulletins
  • Contracts understanding
  • Drafting of compliance notices, agreements
  • Facilitation of workshops
  • Financial acumen
  • Forward workload planning
  • Leasing arrangements
  • Measurement skills
  • Network with arbitrators, law
  • Prepare legal matters and arbitration
  • Risk analysis
  • Subject matter expert on legislation
  • Supplier and procurement lawsManage the commercial profitability of projects and alignment to the financial life cycle of the business :
  • Interpretation of drawings and detection of variations
  • Effectively execute the project certification life cycle and final account
  • Execute and monitor all cost control principles such as site storage control, updated asset registers, plant and equipment reconciliations and
  • Execute the relevant project contractual claims and submit with sufficient evidence
  • Execute accurate cost reports to report on the alignment between budgets and allowable
  • Ensure compliance with construction, HSE, labour and environmental legislations
  • Seamless collaboration with production team to identify profitable synergies and management of the financial integrity of the projects
  • Implement and manage a document and project management control system
  • Provide a best practice service and built sustainable relationships with key parties
