Duties :
Monitoring drives with volunteers to focussed on Big 5, hyenas and cheetahs
Conservation work
Creation of ID kits of the species monitored
Writing reports for the reserve management
Fence patrol
Camera trap processing
Data insert and analysis
Camp maintenance
Other duties as required
Requirements :
FGASA Level 1 (Theory and Practical completed)
Valid ARH and minimum back up trails with at least some experience in walking in Big 5 areas.
Valid DEAT registration
Valid PDP and experience driving 4x4 vehicles
Valid First Aid certificate
Previous experience as a Field Guide / Ranger or in similar research and monitoring environment Computer literacy skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Good communication skills with fluent English, both spoken and written
Ability to interact with people from different countries and diverse backgrounds.
Physically fit, able to work in unfavourable conditions (e.g. heat or rain)
Honest, trust-worthy and reliable
Self-motivated, hard-working. Organised
Flexible work approach
Must be able to work under pressure, independently and as a team with other staff members and volunteers
Passionate about sustainable living
Clean criminal record / proof of police check
Experience of creating ID kits
Experience with data collection, organisation and animal identification
Rifle and handgun business competency
Being able to ride a motorcycle will be an advantage
