Putting Customers First, Delivering Results, Managing a Changing Environment, Communicating for ImpactResponsibilities : Install Oracle server and client with appropriate version, release, and patch level.Apply patches, perform minor release upgrades, and install / configure new features upon agreement with OpCo.Create and manage databases, including tablespaces and system / infrastructure users.Recommend patches to install.Upgrade databases according to the Component Catalogue, with approval from OpCo Application Teams, ensuring compliance with hosted applications.Recover databases using RMAN and BCV backups.Maintain Oracle standards for setting up Production and Test / Acceptance databases.Improve and maintain databases, including rollout and upgrades.Perform database failover tests and monitor performance, tuning SQL and database parameters proactively.Ensure database availability and performance.Use OEM or Grid Control to predict future trends such as tablespace growth and manage space accordingly.Perform data refreshes from production systems as infrastructure allows.Implement workarounds and solutions to incidents and problems in collaboration with OpCo teams.Troubleshoot databases and analyze root causes of issues.Secure databases according to security policies, including auditing and intruder detection at the DBMS level.
