A fast-growing, design-focused manufacturing company specialising in high-end, custom-built kitchens, bars, and wine cellars is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Production Supervisor / Controller to join their team. The role is instrumental in managing daily production operations, ensuring seamless coordination between departments, maintaining quality control, and supporting the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment where open communication and problem-solving are key. You'll work closely with the Factory Coordinator and oversee a team of 15–20 production staff, playing a central role in ensuring projects meet design specifications and delivery schedules. This role is ideal for a self-starter with factory management experience, preferably in cabinetry or furniture manufacturing, who can take initiative, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure a smooth production process

Minimum Requirements :

Matric (Grade 12) is essential

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar production / factory supervisory role

Experience in cabinetry, carpentry, bespoke furniture, or similar manufacturing is advantageous

Strong quality control and production planning skills

Demonstrated ability to manage stock, oversee logistics, and maintain factory discipline

Comfortable working in a hands-on, physically active role

Experience managing teams of 15+ staff members

Excellent communication skills across departments (Design, Procurement, Logistics)

Proactive and solutions-oriented approach

High attention to detail and organisational skills

Comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

Strong sense of accountability and work ethic

Able to ask questions, give feedback, and promote a culture of collaboration

Duties and Responsibilities :

Production Management

Oversee the entire manufacturing process for custom projects (kitchens, bars, wine cellars)

Collaborate with the Factory Coordinator to maintain production schedules and resource planning

Ensure adherence to quality control protocols at every production stage

Monitor and reduce material waste, working with procurement on stock forecasting

Ensure all machinery is operational and coordinate preventative maintenance

Drive continuous improvement in processes and production efficiency

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Stock Control & Logistics

Implement and monitor an accurate inventory management system

Oversee incoming materials (including high-end European furniture) for correct handling and storage

Coordinate dispatch of finished goods and ensure timely deliveries

Minimise loss from damage, theft, or stock obsolescence

Health & Safety

Develop and enforce safety protocols

Conduct regular risk assessments

Provide safety training to staff

Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the facility

Team Guidance & Oversight

Supervise and train factory employees

Provide regular performance feedback and mentorship

Foster a motivating and productive team culture

Assist with recruitment and onboarding of factory staff

Communication & Collaboration

Maintain strong interdepartmental communication

Submit weekly performance and production reports to senior management

Conduct daily production meetings and resolve operational bottlenecks

Ensure alignment with Designers and Procurement to track job progress and material readiness

Daily Operations Focus

Check on project statuses, deliveries, materials, and production floor readiness

Distribute and monitor task lists for team members

Conduct regular walk-throughs to check team output, vehicle cleanliness, and workspace order

Oversee and resolve hardware / material shortages or logistic delays immediately

Ensure factory facilities and communal areas are clean and functional
