Camp Manager | Luxury Safari Camp | Hoedspruit

Salary : R10,000 – R12,000 (Negotiable DOE)

Live-In | 6 Weeks On, 2 Weeks Off | Meals & Accommodation Provided While on Duty

Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a warm, personable, and highly organised Camp Manager for a luxury safari camp based in the Hoedspruit area. This position is best suited to a people-oriented individual who thrives on building meaningful relationships with both staff and guests while ensuring the smooth daily running of camp operations.

Key Responsibilities :

Act as the main point of contact for staff and guests, creating a welcoming and cohesive camp environment

Lead by example as both a colleague and leader , inspiring and motivating the team through strong interpersonal connections rather than authoritarian methods

Foster and maintain excellent relationships with team members to ensure a positive and loyal work culture

Manage and coordinate daily camp operations , ensuring tasks are completed smoothly and efficiently

Uphold a high standard of presentation throughout the camp, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing any issues

Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment and clear delegation of tasks

Represent the camp to guests from all over the world with a friendly, approachable, and well-presented manner

Be a supportive presence in camp for guests, hosting and interacting regularly to ensure an exceptional guest experience

Provide on-the-ground feedback to senior management regarding issues and opportunities, while not being expected to take on high-level strategy or implementation

Assist with organising and maintaining the overall atmosphere of camp to create a welcoming environment for both guests and staff

Act as a liaison between staff and off-site management, staying in tune with team morale and individual circumstances to support staff wellbeing and loyalty

Requirements :

Previous experience in a hospitality or lodge management role

Strong people skills and emotional intelligence to engage effectively with diverse personalities

Highly organised , with an ability to multitask and stay on top of operations without micromanagement

Excellent communication skills and fluency in English

Strong computer literacy and ability to work across multiple programmes and systems

Confident, presentable, and well-spoken with an international outlook

Must be comfortable working in a remote, bush-based environment

Willingness to take ownership of issues and collaborate with management to resolve them

This is a hands-on, guest-facing position where the right individual will act as the heart of the camp, ensuring seamless operations and a positive environment for all. Ideal for someone who is passionate about people, highly organised, and committed to maintaining a high standard of hospitality.
