Job Specification
We are seeking a diligent candidate to develop, manage and report construction detail schedules for an underground construction project. This individual will report to the lead planner and to Project Management, both client and internal.
The candidate will need to work closely with all stakeholders on site to ensure all required tasks on the project is understood, well planned and executed according to standards and procedures.
Close communication with Mine Operations, Project Team, Contractors, Safety and Logistics is required to ensure good communication and planning is executed
Responsibilities
Planning and monitoring the progress of projects throughout their life cycles.
Outlining the scope of the project, including the start and finish points, along with whats included along the way.
Estimating and organizing labor and resource needs
Budgeting and tracking project costs.
Estimating the project timeline and keeping schedules on track.
Setting deadlines for different phases of the project
Supporting team members
Adjusting procedures or deadlines as needed
Creating reports for project managers
Follow EPC projects from the engineering office to the construction site to manage the execution and performance of the construction effort.
Liaising and planning with Subcontractors, Logistics and Project Team
Regular visits to work areas for updating and reporting on progress and risks
Qualifications / Requirements
Matric
Experience in project planning, scheduling or project management
Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project
Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel (valuable for data analysis and reporting.)
