Plant Assistant- Nelspruit

Contexte et environnement

oControlling the drivers of the transport contractors particularly regarding misconduct at the gantry, e.g., spillages, adherence to site rules and procedures

oTroubleshooting / fault finding on depot equipment when minor technical problems are experienced.

oExtreme weather condition (cold, heat, storm)

oOne / Two plant assistant per shift depending on work load

oVarious task that require attention in short space of time, leading to stress situations.

oHazardous working environment (fuel, fumes, additive, electricity, vehicles ect)

o40 Hours work week with shifts & regular overtime required

oTask are physical must be able to carry, lift and move heavy objects, working at heights and work in confined space

Activités

o dip tanks and record dips / temperature accurately.

oUllage, Offload and decant tank cars.

oAssist with tank / valve preparation for product receipts.

oAssist and supervise bulk vehicle operators(BVO) in loading and unloading of bulk trucks.

oTo attend to COC customers, contractors and other visitors requiring service, and carry out administrative duties related to these services.

oTo monitor and report any unsafe conditions and acts to immediate supervisor or management.

oConduct minor maintenance with guidance from Shift Supervisor, Depot Supervisor and Depot Manager

oTo ensure that the premises are kept clean and maintain housekeeping standards

oComply to Depot safety procedures, rules, policies and work instructions

oEnsure receiving of handover instructions before resuming any duties on shift.

oTo perform any other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested by the Shift Supervisor, Depot Supervisor and Depot Manager

HSSEQ

oTo effectively manage and minimise HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring :

oCompliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements

oPromotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies

oEnsure that HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibility

oReporting on near misses to reach the organisations reporting index of ≥ 2 per person

oAssist keeping of Tier 1 and Tier 2 events at 0%

oMonthly Testing of the 508 Safety Critical Barriers.

oEnsuring adherence of downgraded situation / MIT mitigation put in place

oParticipate in emergency drills

Profil du candidat

oGrade 12 with minimum 1 year experience in petrochemical, production, and warehousing or industrial environment
