Job Description
A privately owned safari lodge within the Greater Kruger region is seeking a dynamic and guest-focused Junior Lodge Manager to take ownership of front-of-house (FOH) operations and contribute to the overall guest experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional looking to grow into a senior lodge management role within a busy and conservation-driven lodge environment. The ideal candidate will be warm, organised, presentable, and capable of leading the FOH team with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee daily FOH operations, ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure
Meet and host guests, manage check-ins / outs, and handle special requests or complaints
Coordinate closely with housekeeping, kitchen, guiding, and maintenance teams to deliver high service standards
Maintain high standards of lodge presentation and cleanliness across guest-facing areas
Ensure smooth dining service and bar coordination in collaboration with the F&B team
Handle bookings, guest preferences, dietary requirements, and activity scheduling
Assist in staff supervision, shift management, and basic HR administration
Stock control of FOH-related items (beverages, amenities, uniforms, etc.)
Manage and update guest feedback systems and handle follow-up where required
Support senior management with operational reporting and guest relations tasks
Requirements
Hospitality or lodge management qualification (or equivalent relevant experience)
Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a FOH or guest-facing role in a lodge or boutique hotel setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for guest service
Fluent in English (additional South African languages an advantage)
Well-presented, professional, and confident engaging with international clientele
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with lodge management systems (e.g. Nightsbridge, ResRequest, or similar) and basic computer skills
Valid Driver’s License
