Your success in achieving desired outcomes is rooted in your ability to harness your team's strengths and effectively drive results through others.
In this role, you will lead the small to medium commercial operations (known as YDE Spint & Core, 1MW+ projects) in South Africa, playing a pivotal role in positioning Yellow Door Energy ahead of its competitors.Responsibilities : Accountable for both individual and team targets, driving results through others to secure and finalize critical deals.Build personal relationships with strategic C-level customers to solidify Yellow Door Energy's standing as a leader in the industry.Identify sales opportunities, deliver compelling service pitches, and guide customer discussions to successful contract signings.Engage in strategic planning, regulatory insight, and market intelligence.Educational Background and Experience : 8-10 years professional experience in Business Development, ideally within the solar industry.Strong understanding of project management and project finance.Experience in business plan and budget preparation and management.Excellent network within the South African Commercial and Industrial segments and in the solar industry.Strong understanding of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) programme.Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and CRM software.Preferred : Minimum 10 years' experience in Business Management or Project Development in C&I and / or utility scale Solar PV sector; ideally with a solar developer or EPC.Sales Strategy and Planning : Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth in South Africa.Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to penetrate key markets.Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to ensure YDE maintains a competitive edge.Ensure a minimum pipeline of $ million is consistently reviewed, updated, and demonstrates progression across each deal.Team Leadership and Management : Lead, inspire, and drive a high-performing business development sales team.Set clear sales objectives and KPIs, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.Foster a collaborative and supportive sales culture that promotes teamwork and knowledge sharing.Key Account Management : Cultivate and nurture relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.Identify customer needs and propose tailored renewable energy solutions.Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions that exceed client expectations.Business Development : Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding YDE's customer base.Lead the negotiation and closing of major contracts and strategic partnerships.Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, including government entities and regulatory bodies.Market Intelligence and Reporting : Continuously gather intelligence on market conditions, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.Provide detailed reports and insights to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.Utilize CRM systems to track sales activities and forecast future sales accurately.Sustainability and Innovation : Drive initiatives that position YDE as a leader in sustainable energy solutions.Foster a culture of innovation within the team to develop new products and improve existing offerings.Align business development activities with global sustainability trends and local regulations.Ready to Drive Success in YDE Core?
