Job descriptionGrade 12 Blasting Certificate Mine Overseers Certificate Part A (preferred) 3-5 Years’ Underground Mining Experience 2 Years Shift Boss Underground Mining Supervisory and leadership skills are essential Computer Skills for Material / Stock ordering Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards and Procedures Problem solving Planning and Leadership skills Analytical and systematic Integrity and objectivity Risk awareness and management Conduct Start of shift staff planning and provide instruction to Miners. Monitor processes and procedures during shift to ensure compliance to SOPs, COPs, and production targets. Check stock levels and order stock to ensure that required materials are available for shift. Prevent and report on breakdowns, damages and wastage of material and resources. Oversee the health and safety of subordinate staff in work area. Conduct end of shift safety, compliance, and reporting procedures. Provide feedback to be used in reports. Coordinate, monitor and supervise the performance of direct reports.
