Qualifications / Experience
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience (Required)
- Relevant Unix / Linux / Red Hat certification (Required)
- ITIL process knowledge and work experience (Advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an operations environment (Required)
- South African citizens / residents preferred; valid work permit holders considered
Essential Skills Requirements Must have experience / understanding :
Proven experience with Unix / Linux operating systems (SUSE)Proficiency in VRO and Rudder automation platformsKnowledge of system monitoring tools such as Nagios, GrafanaSolid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, SSH, TCP / IP)Proficiency in scripting languages such as Terraform, Python, Bash, or PowerShellProven experience in operations or process management in complex production environmentsExtensive experience in IT operations teams, standby support and ticket managementAny additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) CharterAdvantageous Skills Requirements

System Administration : Install, configure, and maintain Unix / Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime across enterprise infrastructurePerformance Management : Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely solutions for critical production systemsSecurity & Maintenance : Apply system updates, patches, and security fixes as part of routine maintenance and security complianceDocumentation : Create and maintain system documentation, including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guidesCompliance : Support compliance with IT security standards and company policies across all managed systemsSystem Integration : Analyze integration systems and demonstrate proficiency in complex system interconnectivityArchitecture & Design : Propose and review system design and evaluate alternatives for optimal infrastructure solutionsSolution Development : Develop system solutions in line with delivery requirements and business objectivesAI Integration : Be able to use AI in analysis, system integration and design for enhanced operational efficiencyOperations Support : Serve as part of the standby and MOD team roster providing 24 / 7 operational supportNB :
