This is a senior-level position that combines advanced technical execution with critical team oversight. You will serve as the highest technical escalation point, driving effective problem resolution and ensuring the resilience and performance of client desktop and server environments.
Key Responsibilities : Leadership, Mastery, and Oversight
The successful candidate will blend deep technical expertise with strategic leadership duties :
Technical Leadership & Mentorship : Serve as the primary technical escalation point, guiding and mentoring support engineers in complex troubleshooting. Drive adherence to company standards, procedures, and comprehensive technical documentation.
Core Infrastructure Management : Expertly install, configure, and maintain all Microsoft server and desktop operating systems, along with core Microsoft and third-party application software. Perform remote administration of client servers and workstations.
Advanced Troubleshooting : Provide comprehensive hardware installation and expert troubleshooting across all IT infrastructure, including servers, desktops, networking equipment, and general IT systems.
Risk & Strategy : Proactively identify systemic risks or recurring technical problems within client environments and devise strategic remediation and solution deployment plans.
Operational Execution : Conduct on-site and remote resolution of support calls, manage external supplier relationships (orders, service, and repairs), and compile definitive configuration documentation for client sites.
Required Expertise and Qualifications :
Experience Foundation : A minimum of 3 to 5 years of concurrent IT work experience, including at least two years of specialized server support and maintenance experience.
Certifications : Matriculation certificate is mandatory. An A+, Server+, N+, or similar qualification is required. International MCSE or MCSA certification, as well as experience with Windows Server 2016 and above, is highly advantageous.
Technical Mastery : Excellent understanding of Windows Event logs, hardware components, server systems (e.g., RAID), TCP\IP networking, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Cloud & Continuity : Expert knowledge of Active Directory administration and extensive experience with the configuration and administration of Office 365. Essential knowledge of backup solutions (Veeam, Windows Backup, Altaro).
Networking & Tools : Proficiency with configuring routers and wireless access points. Familiarity with remote support techniques (VPN, RDP, Team Viewer) and tools like SCCM.

Remuneration and Professional Benefits :
Competitive Compensation : Cost to company (CTC) between R25,000 and R45,000 , determined by qualifications, experience, and skill level.
