Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Science, or equivalent

Experience Requirements

  • Notable REIPP experience is a must
  • Strong project finance background
  • Registration as a Chartered Accountant would be advantageous
  • Responsibilities

    As a key member of the Business Development team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our client’s strategic growth initiatives in South Africa. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Identifying and developing project development and M&A opportunities, with a focus on sectors such as Commercial & Industrial and Energy Trading
  • Leading our client’s participation in the REIPP program, overseeing the review of tender requirements, structuring, and submission of bid responses
  • Leading the development of projects to financial close, including securing permits and coordinating closely with finance, legal, HR, and technical teams
  • Negotiating key documentation, including Offtake Agreements, JDA Term Sheets, JDAs, Shareholder Agreements, and Share Purchase Agreements, in collaboration with legal and finance teams
  • Managing and mitigating risks throughout the development, construction, and operational phases of projects
  • Conducting due diligence for M&A and Project Finance transactions, negotiating key project documents such as PPAs, SPAs, and Finance Agreements, and supporting valuation and offer preparation for project acquisitions and financial close
