Manager : Credit Risk and Customer Analytics

Based at our Head Office in Cape Town, this position requires that you find innovative ways to leverage the vast amount of data and information at your disposal to create customer strategies that drive up profit within constraints.
Work within the Risk and Analytics department to enhance Truworths’ company performance by providing information, analyses, reports and technical support for the development and implementation of strategic solutions. Must have a broad range of experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of analysts to design, build and track credit and loyalty optimisation strategies to grow profit within constraints set by the board.
- Work closely with a broad range of colleagues to identify ideas / opportunities, explore which have merit and then build a testing framework to learn what works best and roll‑out to the business.
- Present new strategies with expected outcomes to the board / senior executive management with recommendations on how to test these on the portfolio.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Business Science or Commerce Degree preferred.8+ years in retail credit, ideally store card.Personal experience in building predictive models such as credit scorecards, marketing response models, propensity models or machine learning models (mandatory).Experience in analytics programming languages highly advantageous e.g., SAS, Python, R.Experience in using predictive models in a framework to balance costs with revenue to drive profit.Project manage the implementation of strategy changes into live systems.Mathematical optimisation experience highly advantageous.Task driven and ability to handle work pressure.Excellent planning and time management skills.Creative mind‑set and proactive.Must grow team with relevant support, training programs and be seen as a mentor / coach.Must have good communication skills.Commitment to Transformation
