CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
To manage Strategic and Operational Projects in the Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment, and Technology in support of the Faculty Strategic Plan, Executive Dean, Faculty Executive, and departments.
To provide strategic and operational support - ensuring that University and statutory requirements are followed and that activities have an underlying consideration of inclusion, diversity, and transformation.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
To plan, direct, and coordinate the Faculty's operations to improve performance, productivity, and efficiency by providing effective methods and strategies, and by assisting the Executive Dean and the Faculty Management Team in :
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic goals and objectives.
- Managing strategic and operational projects identified by the Executive Dean and Faculty Management.
- Developing and streamlining Faculty guidelines and procedures in line with institutional policies, procedures, and rules, including coordinating policy inputs and Faculty guidelines.
- Administering Faculty initiatives and activities.
- Leading the Faculty's communication and marketing strategy.
- Managing internal and external engagements.
- Providing administrative and secretariat support within the Faculty, as identified by the Executive Dean or Faculty Management.
- Overseeing and supporting efficient and effective operations across Faculty portfolios and structures.
- Supporting staff development and wellness initiatives.
- Managing workload allocation and timetabling.

Qualification :
A relevant M+4 qualification (Honours or Postgraduate Diploma) in business administration, project management or a cognate field.An underpinning qualification in a discipline in the faculty will be advantageous.Experience :
At least 5-7 years' relevant experience inclusive of at least 3-5 years management experience at a Higher Education Institution in which competence has been gained.Evidence of successful project management experience in a higher education environment.Demonstrated evidence of the proficient application of advanced Excel and MS Teams capabilities in the design and implementation of automated workflows to facilitate the secure receipt, verification, and tracking of submissions and supporting documentation in the execution of projects.
