Depot Manager - Inverness

You must have good communication skills, basic Health and Safety knowledge and be able to manage a team.Additional InformationThis role is based in our small Inverness Depot and is for 40 hrs per week - site operations scheduled Monday to Friday (no weekends) between am to pm.Key Responsibilities : To advise / teach staff on safe and proper operating procedures, relevant checks, etc.Maintain accurate staff and vehicle records.To assess and directly support the Warehouse operation.Ensure that all fleet and driver records are compliant with all aspects of DVSA.People management, such as performance reviews, staff development, disciplinary and grievance handling.To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.Previous Experience : Previous transport / logistics management experience.Ability to work accurately, with good attention to detail.Effective communication skills and proven ability to motivate and manage a team of people.Experience of managing or working in a warehouse or distribution environment.Be able to demonstrate ability to cope in challenging situations.IT literate with knowledge of WMS systems.Ability to produce, understand and report on operational performance information.Responsibility for P&L.Able to cope with change and manage own workload and priorities.Knowledge of relevant H&S, HR legislation and good practice.Management CPC / OLAT qualification is desired but not essential.Benefits : Employee discount : amazing discounts available on all Oak Furnitureland products after successful completion of probation.Life assurance : free cover of a minimum of two times your annual salary up to the age of 65.Birthday : an additional day off for you to celebrate your birthday.Holidays : a minimum of 28 days statutory holiday per year.Pension : 4% employee contribution matched by the company.Employee Assistance Programme : gives all employees access to both telephone and face-to-face counselling services.My Rewards Programme : offers discounts on everything from restaurants and supermarkets to entertainment and holidays.Free on-site parking.
