Position Overview

The Market Risk Analyst monitors the risk embedded in Glencore’s portfolio to ensure it remains within the company’s risk appetite. The role reports directly to the Market Risk Lead and supports the Senior Risk Management and Commercial teams.

Primary Tasks & Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk identification, assessment and monitoring on assigned portfolios.
• Design and evolve risk reports to track key risks and adjust to market dynamics.
• Own the coordination, implementation and communication of risk reports.
• Collaborate with desk teams to understand positioning and current market conditions.
• Define and implement bespoke stress tests for market deterioration and specific risk quantification.
• Define and monitor predictive scenarios to provide intuitive guidance to management and desk.
• Develop Python code and utilize Tableau / PowerBI for daily dashboard presentations.
• Assess a wide range of transactions with necessary modeling and analysis.
• Communicate results effectively to traders and senior management.
