Job Role
The Junior Financial Analyst will support the Cellular (Airtime) team in analysing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in day-to-day operational requirements. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in finance and gain valuable commercial experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to forecasts and budgets.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
- Determine key financial KPIs.
- Support the budgeting process by gathering data, inputting figures, and analyzing trends.
- Create and update financial forecasts based on current data and market trends, communicating timeously with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage SKU availability and stock levels; conduct monthly stock reconciliations and stock ageing management.
- Gather financial and operational data from various departments and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets.
- Conduct research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor performance.
- Assist in performing financial analysis related to specific projects or business initiatives.
- Provide support to financial analysts and finance managers / accountants as needed.
- Assist in special projects and ad‑hoc financial analysis requests.
Requirements
Eligible to register as a CA(SA) / newly qualified CA(SA) (advantageous).A minimum of 3 years' article experience (signed‑off).Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Proficiency in the latest Microsoft applications including advanced Excel and PowerBI (preferred).Understand and develop pricing structures to enable maximum profitability through indexing interest rates payable, receivable, and time value of money.Ability to present data and findings clearly and concisely.Build strong relationships : work closely with team members within the department and build sound relationships.Effective communication skills : good written and verbal communication skills.Analytical and problem‑solving skills; strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.Commercial awareness : awareness of how financial analysis supports business decisions and strategic planning.Time management : ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.Eagerness to learn : willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges.Additional Information
