Job Purpose
The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a secretarial support service to senior manager(s).Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and / or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualificationA minimum of 3 years experience in rendering a support service to management / senior management.Recommendation
None.Key Performance Areas
Provide a secretarial / receptionist support service to the DirectorRenders administrative support services; Provide support to the Director regarding meetingsSupport the Director with the administration of the Directorate's budgetStudies the relevant public service and departmental prescripts / policies and other documents and ensures that the application thereof is understood.Competencies
Knowledge of the following : Relevant legislation / policies / prescripts and procedures; Basic knowledge of financial administration.Skills in the following : Computer literacy in MS Office Package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to work independently and as part of a team Language and communication skills (written and verbal); Good telephone etiquette; Sound organisational skills; Do research and analyse documents and situationsWillingness to work irregular hours when requiredIt will be advantageous to have a valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.NB : People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.Remuneration
