Job purpose : Responsible for the financial activities of Lucy Electric South Africa.
Job context
This is the lead financial role within LESA and will manage a local Finance Team. Lucy Electric is a leader in secondary power distribution solutions with over 100 years’ industry experience, specialising in high-performance medium voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications. The role reports to the Group Finance Director with day-to-day reporting to the General Manager LESA.
Job dimensions
Travel may be required abroad or within Southern Africa as needed.
Key accountabilities
- Financial reporting : analyse and review monthly results; perform variance analysis against current and prior year monthly results; prepare monthly management reports; provide support and strategic input to management; identify trends and provide improvement recommendations.
- Financial control : responsibility for financial control and record keeping; develop financial control systems and procedures; manage year-end audit and relationships with local auditors; ensure integrity of inventory.
- Financial planning : prepare quarterly profit, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts; prepare annual budget and coordinate management plan; input into Lucy Electric’s medium-term strategic plan; manage funding and cash flow; analyze forecast and budget results; perform variance analysis against budget and prior year.
- Treasury : responsible for foreign currency conversion (with Group Treasury); manage customer credit limits and cash collections; manage local banking relationships.
- Tax : ensure compliance with local tax regulations; manage both direct and indirect taxes; collaborate with local tax specialist and liaise with Group Tax.
- Business partnering : provide financial information and advice to support decision-making by CEO and local management; develop financial / operating management information; support sales tendering and financial reviews of key tenders and contracts; support outsourcing, cost control and other business initiatives; develop financial models; develop best practice and performance metrics; represent Finance in Microsoft D365 development; manage the Finance department and day-to-day staff management, including performance appraisals and employee development.
- Other duties : undertake any other duties as required to maintain / improve efficiency, quality, and service.
