The Montague Gardens Branch requires a committed, hardworking and trustworthy Scale Buyer to join their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :
- Ensure that you thoroughly inspect scrap metal to be purchased and display same openly for photographing
- Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying by accurately recording all information required under the Act
- Ensure that captured information and photographs is correct
- Sorting and grading of ferrous and non-ferrous material
- Accurately weigh customers metals for purchase
- Identifying stolen and inferior material and report same to management immediately
- Accurately updating customer information
- Ensure metal purchased is secured immediately after purchased and not re-purchased
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria :
Minimum Grade 12 or equivalentComputer proficiency : packages required : MS Word, ExcelGood numeracy skillsAble to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers & colleaguesAbility to work independently as well as in a teamGood communication skillsAbility to work quickly and under pressureAn excellent knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metalsReside in surrounding areas will be advantageousQualifying Attributes :
