Reports to : Operations Manager

Remuneration : R50 000.00 + Medical Aid + Pension

Purpose Of The Job :

Our client is part of a large motor vehicle dealer group in East Africa with its head office in Johannesburg. They are looking for an experienced IT Manager with relevant experience within the information technology sector. The suitable applicant should have had dealings with dealership networks and have experience in management. The candidate will be based in JHB. The role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's information technology operations, including planning and implementing IT policies, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems, analyzing technology needs, and implementing strategic upgrades to support business goals.

Duties, included but not limited to :

Overseeing the daily operations of network infrastructure, servers, and systems, including hardware and software maintenance, upgrades, backups as well as maintenance of IT Asset list
Developing and managing the IT budget, forecasting costs, and ensuring efficient allocation of resources
Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect data and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Ensuring that all group and company policies are adhered to
Leading IT projects from initiation to completion, including system implementations, upgrades, and migrations
Researching and evaluating new technologies, hardware, and software to identify potential improvements and cost savings
Troubleshooting technical issues, identifying root causes, implementing solutions to minimize downtime, as well as assist with IT Support calls for group
Collaborating with other departments to understand business needs and ensure IT initiatives align with strategic goals
Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans to mitigate potential disruptions and data loss
Development of SLA’s for ITC’s in country

Requirements :

Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in an IT Manager role within the Motor Industry Essential

Relevant degree or diploma

Mature individual that can work on their own Essential

Travel to African countries 1 week per month

Experience within the Automotive industry, travelling and dealing with clients within the rest of Africa highly advantageous

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders across different departments

Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware / software systems

Strong technical knowledge across various IT domains like network administration, server management, security protocols, and cloud computing

Expertise in data centre management and data governance

Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

Strong problem solving & interpersonal skills

Analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues

Project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects

Understanding of business operations and ability to align IT strategies with business goals
