Sports & Leisure Centre Manager | Luxury Hotel | George, Western Cape

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Sports & Leisure Centre Manager for a luxury hotel based in George, Western Cape. This role is ideal for a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a passion for sports, leisure, and guest engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional to take the lead in delivering exceptional leisure experiences within a luxury hotel environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (required)
- Diploma in Sports or Club Management (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s licence (advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a 5-star hotel, resort gym, or sports / golf club in a supervisory or managerial capacity
- Strong knowledge of various leisure and sporting activities (e.g. children’s programming, golf, tennis, cycling, hiking)
- Understanding of local and national health and safety regulations
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute engaging, innovative activities for guests and members to drive participation and revenuePlan and implement vibrant seasonal and festive programmes tailored to a diverse clienteleLead marketing and communication efforts to promote leisure activities and maximise visibilityStay informed on trends in resort-based leisure to ensure offerings remain fresh and competitiveEnsure all leisure facilities meet health, safety, and quality standardsOversee the daily operations of the Sports & Leisure Centre and Kids ClubManage departmental budgets and ensure financial goals are metRecruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing teamOversee administrative tasks such as stock control, ordering, and inventoryDeliver consistently high levels of guest satisfaction through exceptional serviceHandle guest feedback and complaints in coordination with Guest Relations and monitor feedback platforms (e.g. Medallia, TripAdvisor)Coordinate specialist childcare services where required (including babysitting and care for special needs)Required Competencies
