Job descriptionMinimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 and 1 year work‑related experience or Grade 12 without related work experience. Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the geographic area where the position is available. Valid South African ID or work permit. Ability to perform basic calculations accurately. Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Able to work under pressure. Integrity : complying with standards, keeping promises, creating realistic expectations, being sincere, handling sensitive information carefully, showing awareness of values. Accuracy : handling detailed information, working orderly, ensuring accuracy, preventing mistakes, checking work. Client focus : identifying and responding to clients’ wishes and needs, being friendly, involved, welcoming. About the job
Ensure comprehensive customer service in store. Merchandising of stock, shelf price labelling and housekeeping within designated area of responsibility.
Key responsibilities
- Advise and assist customers on correct products and queries.
- Assist with and resolve customer complaints.
- Merchandise bulk stock area safely and according to store layout plan.
- Ensure area is fully merchandised according to store layout and planograms.
- Keep area free of obstacles, merchandise immediately after being received and allow customers to enter and leave aisles without risk of injury or irritation.
- Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
- Complete required checklists for canteen and toilet / showers schedule.
- Maintain safety compliance (OHSA) – use safety gear, ensure customer and staff safety, keep area safe to move within store.
- Report discrepancies to store manager, manage stock loss, report damaged stock.
