The company offers a supportive environment where commitment and accuracy are recognised and rewarded.The Role : Commercial UnderwriterThe Commercial Underwriter will play a key role in assessing, evaluating, and administering commercial insurance policies.

You\'ll be responsible for ensuring that underwriting processes are accurate, compliant, and efficient, while delivering a high standard of client service.

Although training is available, the ideal candidate will already hold the relevant industry qualifications and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities2+ years\' experience in commercial underwriting within a brokerage or binder environment (training can be provided if needed)Assess, evaluate, and underwrite commercial insurance risks within binder mandates.Prepare, review, and issue quotations, renewals, and endorsementsLiaise with clients, brokers, and insurers to ensure accurate and timely policy administrationEnsure compliance with underwriting guidelines, internal policies, and regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate and up-to-date records across systems and filesAssist with binder reporting and contribute to adherence to service-level agreementsDeliver professional, timely, and client-focused service at all timesAbout YouMatric (NQF Level 4) with a recognised industry qualification or higherRegulatory Exam 5 (RE5)Class of Business certificationContinuous Professional Development (CPD) minimum 18 points per yearExperience in commercial underwriting within a brokerage or binder environment (preferred, but not essential if willing to train)Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesSelf-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamCommitted, hardworking, and eager to grow within the insurance sector
