Head of Web Development – Salt

Responsibilities will include:

• Leading a team of Full Stack Developers, Front End Developers, UX developers and UI designers
• Leading UX architecture and system design decisions and reviews code implementation
• Oversee all aspects of interactive development, including CMS development, front-end development, dev ops, server architecture and maintenance, and security strategy
• Builds strong, collaborative relationships with tech team, and both internal and external stakeholders’
• Collaborates regularly with outside agencies to develop, test, and launch code through multiple phases of work
• Identifying and troubleshooting bugs and code failures
• Develop and implement creative solutions to move work forward on deadline, strategically weighing risk and evaluating level of the work’s importance throughout
• Creating and executing vision for stable, adaptable website and information architecture
• Co-creating development roadmaps together with office’s senior leadership and digital product team, identifying future needs, fixes, enhancements, and potential experiments
• Developing a plan for maintaining and upgrading code base as needed.
• Monitoring and investigating new technology trends and opportunities for innovation
• Actively participation in weekly department meetings to share relevant team updates and inform and educate colleagues about development projects.
• Providing critical input and strategic direction for all phases of website projects
• Designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring high-performance and availability

Experience/Skills for this role:

• Solid comprehension of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and a track record of improving performance metrics and achieving significant results in this area.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field is preferred
• 6 years of experience Web Development (Full Stack)
• Prior agency experience is preferred but not a requirement
• Expert knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end development tools
• Understanding of best practice in development operations and code deployment approaches
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git
• Familiarity with database management systems like MySQL
• Extensive experience in agile development methodology
• Experience and demonstrated success in online conversion rate optimization best practices and methodologies within ecommerce/web development
• Understanding of best practices to minimize digital security vulnerabilities
• Strong SEO understanding
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON and GraphQL
