Sonata One is a rapidly scaling, regulated fund services and technology (fintech) business. We are The Private Funds Clearinghouse, connecting more than 53,000 investors with 6,500 funds and 180 fund managers around the globe. Our vision is to change the paradigm of private markets investing through harmonising the end‑to‑end investment process within one platform. Investors benefit from a seamless, one‑and‑done experience across the fund lifecycle (from fund selection and subscription through to settlement and reporting) underpinned by a globally compliant KYC passport and 24 / 7 support. Fund managers can raise capital faster at a lower cost from a wider pool of pre‑approved investors. Founded in 2015, Sonata One has a presence in eight locations worldwide including the US, UK and Luxembourg, Guernsey, South Africa and Mauritius.

Position Overview

As the Marketing Director at Sonata One, you’ll set the marketing plan and budget to hit our growth goals. You’ll bring our vision and value proposition to life—clearly and consistently—through powerful content and eye‑catching visuals that speak to our target personas. You’ll drive digital marketing to boost brand recognition, fuel lead generation, and lead go‑to‑market launches for new services. We’re looking for someone who’s hands‑on, data‑driven, and creative—organized, focused, and energized by turning strategy into results.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize various media (thought leadership, whitepapers, webinars, videos) to engage and educate our target audience.
  • Lead digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Leverage data and analytics to optimize digital marketing performance and ROI.
  • Communicate our culture, values and successes as One Global Thread for all of our people globally throughout the employment lifecycle in collaboration with the People Director.
  • Actively encourage a culture of continuous improvement through new ideas.
  • Provide hands‑on strategic direction and leadership for day‑to‑day marketing delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement scalable solutions.
  • Streamline internal processes to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to mitigate risks and ensure a resilient business model.
  • Help set the tone of the office and ensure our values are known and practised on a daily basis.

Grow Our Services

  • Refine and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Bring forward actionable plans, not just ideas — someone who can turn vision into execution.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify market trends, customer needs and competitive opportunities.
  • Uphold and enhance Sonata One’s brand image, ensuring consistency across all communication channels.
  • Implement brand positioning that reflects our values and resonates with target audiences.
  • Drive the commercialisation of the marketing function, transforming it into a revenue‑generating engine.
  • Implement strategies to capture and convert leads, turning marketing efforts into measurable business outcomes.
  • Elevate the profiles of the CEO and executive team in both the US and European market.
  • Work closely with Sales and Business Development teams to support revenue growth initiatives.
  • Develop and execute campaigns that directly contribute to pipeline expansion and client acquisition.
  • Oversee the creation of compelling and valuable content that positions our expertise and addresses client pain points.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with industry influencers, partners and clients.
  • Identify strategic industry events for the company to be represented at to expand our network and visibility.
  • Reporting

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting on marketing performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Senior Commercial Marketing leader or similar leadership role in a fintech / tech business, or financial.
  • Demonstrated success in commercializing marketing functions and driving revenue growth.
  • The ability to articulate our vision and value proposition consistently to clearly defined personas through both content and graphics.
  • Proven background in digital marketing boosting brand recognition and lead generation.
  • Experience working with dynamic, high‑growth businesses – leading Go To Market launches for new services.
  • Organized, focused, and energized by turning strategy into results.
  • Data‑driven mindset with a creative edge — able to test, learn, and optimize fast.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and work at pace. This role will be required to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing efficiencies and driving organisational growth.
  • Strong understanding of technology and its integration into financial services.
  • An understanding of the private markets’ investment process is a plus.
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
