Junior Accountant

The Mercury group is seeking a Junior Bookkeeper or financial controllerYour duties will include the oversight and management for selected retails stores , you will be communicating with the staff employed and ensuring stock counts and banking are correct on a weekly basisYou will work closely with the CFO and assist with vat returns and some financial reportsYou will ensure the stores are running efficiently and there are no stock shortages or issues regarding sales or returns from customersIn your interview the role will be explained in more detailSome duties will includeBudgeting and Forecasting : Budget preparation : Creating and managing budgets for various departments and activities.Financial forecasting : Developing projections for future financial performance.Internal Controls and Risk Management : Establishing and maintaining internal controls : Implementing systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.Evaluating financial risks : Identifying and assessing potential financial risks.Other Key Responsibilities : Coordinating audit processes : Team leadership and management : Overseeing accounting staff and managing their performance.Supporting executive decision-making : Providing financial information and analysis to aid in strategic planning.Identifying cost savings : Proposing measures to reduce operational costs.Job Type : Full-timePay : R
