Overview of the Position
As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing daily site activities, coordinating teams and subcontractors, and ensuring that construction work is executed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. This role is critical to maintaining site productivity, quality control, and timely delivery of construction milestones.
Purpose of the Position
To oversee and manage all on-site operations, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards, while maintaining cost efficiency and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Site Operations
- Supervise and coordinate site teams and subcontractors.
- Monitor progress against project timelines and targets.
- Conduct regular site meetings and safety briefings.
- Ensure site activities align with project specifications and schedules.
- Managing and co-ordinating inspections in collaboration with QA / QC teams
- Arrange and lead regular site staff meetings, safety committee meetings, etc.
Technical Oversight
Interpret and implement construction drawings and specifications.Resolve on-site technical issues and escalate where necessary.Maintain accurate site records and daily reports.Assist in preparing method statements and risk assessments.Compiling and regularly updating the project programsPrepare an in-detail contractors reportEstablish, report and close out nonconformanceHealth, Safety & Environment
Enforce health and safety regulations and promote a safety-first culture.Monitor site conditions and ensure compliance with environmental standards.Manage site cleanliness, waste control, and security.Cost & Resource Management
Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.Assist with procurement and material orders.Support the Quantity Surveyor with cost tracking and reporting.Job Requirements
Qualifications
National Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.Registration with SACPCMP or similar body is advantageous.Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in construction, with at least 3-5 years in a Senior Site management position.Technical Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with CCS or similar construction software.Knowledge of OHS regulations, NEC and JBCC contracts.Strong understanding of construction methodologies and materials.Core Competencies
