Junior Bookkeeper
Centurion, Gauteng
Salary : Negotiable, up to R20,000 p / m
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for capturing transactions, performing reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records, while assisting with various ad-hoc finance tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting :
Process general ledger entries, bank transactions, and reconciliations
Capture supplier and sales invoices, maintain customer and supplier accounts
Post monthly journals (salaries, depreciation, reallocations)
Assist with intercompany reconciliations (advantageous)
Prepare management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
Liaise with clients to confirm and gather documentation
Compile basic annual financial statements for SMEs (advantageous)
Statutory Compliance :
Perform VAT reconciliations and VAT201 submissions
Assist with VAT audits (advantageous)
Submit EMP201 returns via SARS eFiling
Handle basic SARS correspondence
Assist with Provisional Tax and Income Tax Returns (advantageous)
Register companies at the Department of Labour for UIF and WCA (advantageous)
Minimum Requirements
Matric (National Senior Certificate)
Accounting Diploma / BCom Accounting Degree (advantageous)
SAIPA Articles (advantageous)
3+ years’ bookkeeping / accounting experience
Strong numeracy, analytical ability, and attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel – intermediate level)
Experience with Sage accounting software (essential), CaseWare (advantageous)
