Job description

Minimum requirements :

  • Matric
  • Accounting Diploma / BCom Accounting Degree (Advantageous)
  • SAIPA Articles (Advantageous)
  • 3 years experience in finance / accounting role with specific experience in maintaining a companys financial records
  • Sage accounting software packages
  • CaseWare (Advantageous)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel in particular Intermediate Level)

Key Responsibilities :

Accounting :

  • General ledger processing
  • Bank processing and reconciliations
  • Processing of supplier invoices
  • Processing of sales invoices
  • Maintain customer and supplier accounts
  • Post monthly journals (Salary, depreciation, reallocations)
  • Basic intercompany reconciliations (Advantageous)
  • Preparing management accounts
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliation
  • Liaise with clients to gather and confirm documentation
  • Compiling basic annual financial statements for SMEs (Advantageous)

    • Statutory :

  • VAT Reconciliations
  • VAT 201 submissions
  • VAT 201 Audits (Advantageous)
  • EMP201 Returns
  • SARS eFiling knowledge
  • Basic SARS correspondence
  • Provisional Tax (Advantageous)
  • Income Tax Returns (Advantageous)
  • Register companies at Department of Labour for UIF and WCA (Advantageous)
