Van Assistant

Job Title : Van Assistant

Seniority Level : Mid Career (2 - 4 yrs exp)

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the driver with loading and unloading parcels from the delivery van.

Ensure all parcels are correctly sorted and organized for delivery.

Help with delivering parcels to customers, obtaining signatures or proof of delivery.

Handle parcels carefully to avoid damage or loss.

Support the driver in navigating routes and managing delivery schedules.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections.

Communicate effectively with the driver, dispatch, and customers.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the van.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Report any issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent

Previous experience in courier, delivery, or warehousing (preferred)

Ability to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 25 kg safely

Good communication and customer service skills

Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Basic literacy and numeracy skills

Willingness to work flexible hours
