Head of Key Account Development, SANY Africa

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall operation and management of the regional key account development department, taking the lead in developing composite key accounts and their KPU (Key Procurement Units) from the "0-1" and "1-10" stages, and fully achieving the business objectives assigned by the Group.
  • Take the lead in the full‑process chain of key account development, leading the completion of customer strategic planning and key milestone advancement (including but not limited to senior executive visits, on‑site trials, prototype introduction, bulk procurement), solution design, delivery, and payment closed‑loop management.
  • Coordinate and integrate internal resources of the key account department, reasonably allocate key positions such as key account managers, SR experts, and customer operations, and promote efficient team collaboration and operations.
  • Mobilize resources across business units and regions, break product boundaries, and take responsibility for driving the output of integrated solutions, achieving key account breakthroughs that are "cross‑product and cross‑region".
  • Take the lead in managing the key account list and KPU, develop mid‑to‑long term customer development rhythm, and drive semi‑annual rolling reviews, ensuring customer development is "with list, with path, with results".
  • Act as the "first person responsible" for the Group’s key account development within the region, leading senior‑level client public relations, and establishing the company’s brand and high‑end image in the key account market.
  • Cooperate with the Group and business units to complete critical project battles and special campaigns for strategic customer breakthroughs.

Qualifications

  • Education Background : Full‑time bachelor's degree or above, with majors in Engineering, Marketing, International Business, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Language Ability : Possess fluent English communication skills, able to use as a working language; mastery of a second foreign language (such as French, Portuguese, etc.) is preferred.
  • Work Experience :
  • At least 10 years of experience in key account development, marketing, and management; of which no less than 3 years in frontline key account tackling or key overseas market operations.

  • More than 3 years of experience in managing cross‑cultural teams of more than 10 people; with experience in independently building a key account team.
  • Background in construction machinery, mining equipment, heavy equipment, or other large industrial products or project‑based sales is preferred.
  • Background in the global construction machinery or mining equipment industry is preferred.
  • Experience in tackling composite customers (cross‑regional, cross‑industry) or state‑owned / large group customers is preferred.
  • Practical experience in promoting key account development from the "0-1" and "1-10" stages is preferred.
  • Core Competencies

  • Customer insight and relationship operation ability : Ability to understand the complex organisational structure of key accounts, able to engage with customer senior executives, with strategic account management thinking.
  • Resource coordination and project management ability : Strong capability in coordinating internal and external resources, able to promote cross‑department and cross‑regional resource linkage, and lead complex project operations.
  • Solution building ability : Possess systematic thinking from product to solution building, able to integrate products, services, financing, and other diverse resources.
  • High‑intensity battle capability : Result‑oriented mindset, able to withstand high‑intensity work pressure, adapt to long‑term expatriation and global travel.
  • Leadership and team management ability : Able to build teams, cultivate talents, manage performance, and create high‑performance Sales teams.
  • Qualities

  • Good at analysis and judgment, with business sensitivity; excellent language expression, strong business negotiation and public relations ability.
  • Physically healthy, able to adapt to frequent business trips.
  • The base location for this position is flexible and can be in any major city in Southern Africa.
