As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing mechanical systems and components for armored vehicles. This includes working on armor integration, mobility systems, structural design, and survivability solutions from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for armored vehicles using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, and Creo)
- Integrate armor and ballistic protection systems into vehicle platforms
- Perform structural and thermal analysis (FEA and CFD) to validate design integrity and performance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, systems, and manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration
- Generate and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Support prototype builds, testing, and production readiness activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant defense standards and regulations (e.g., STANAG and MIL-STD)
Requirements :
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 35 years of experience in mechanical design (preferably in armored or military vehicle platforms)Proficiency in 3D CAD and simulation toolsUnderstanding of materials used in ballistic protection (e.g., composites, high-hardness steels, and ceramics)Strong knowledge of GD&T, DFM / DFA, and manufacturing processesAbility to work in a high-security, fast-paced engineering environmentExcellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills
