Job Description :
As Planning Advisor Central Workshops, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to :
Safety, Health, and Environment
- Prioritise safety and health principles in all team interactions, taking personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and eliminate fatalities.
- Act as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health are paramount.
- Identify and avoid specific risks within the working area by implementing plans / systems to minimise them.
- Manage safety and health systems within the work area, including assessing safety leadership capabilities, assessing team members 'fitness for duty, and conducting physical safety checks.
- Create safety reports and manage analysis of KPIs based on available data.
- Investigate incidents related to safety, health, environmental, and social issues within the work area. Visit the incident site as part of the investigation. Follow the appropriate process to establish the root cause. Elevate incidents properly and on time.
- Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments, and close-out of Safety Actions, capturing and implementing learnings and sharing them across teams.
Performance and Delivery
Oversee the work management process.Source and evaluate best practices on planning, scheduling, and resourcing in Anglo America and make recommendations for the site accordingly.Compare WM KPIs with Process KPIs and use insights from this comparison.Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify gaps / deviations in applying the Work Management process on-site.Refine and guide the criteria for work requests / notifications that meet the quality standard.Advise on optimising human resources to deliver maximum output by identifying capabilities, tools, systems, and processes.Facilitate and provide input into the 52-week budget.Coach team members on the applicable Work Management process.Maintenance Planning and Scheduling :
Advise on how to plan and schedule maintenance effectively.Determine the frequency and timing of maintenance tasks.Ensure the schedule includes a proper balance of preventive and corrective work.Review WK3 to WK6 during management routines to mitigate risks.Enforce the locking-in of WK1 and WK2 schedules.Coach and guide on the implementation of BPP and the development of work packages.Coach and guide on the effectiveness of planning and scheduling-related management routines.Address compliance with the weekly schedule, reconcile discrepancies, and manage deviations.Plant Equipment :
Advice on processing materials or products and the equipment used.Advise on optimal loading of resources (100% capacity).Assure effective use of systems and tools to enable planning and scheduling functions.Availability :
Advise on enhancing equipment and process availability when needed. This is crucial for maintaining a smooth workflow and meeting production goals.Monitor active backlog management.Monitor Key Performance Indicators (a comparison between Work Management KPI’s Schedulingcompliance, Scheduling effectiveness, andCompile performance and planning status reports and continuously communicate with relevant key role-players to enable decision-making.Sustainability :
Conduct maintenance activities to minimise waste, reduce environmental impact, and ensure the long-term viability of the equipment and processes.Develop and adopt measures for work planning quality within the discipline.Advise on how to improve work planning measures that are not stable or capable.Routine sampling of planning details with the aim of continuous improvement.Advise and facilitate team roles to implement solutions to close gaps (Process, systems, and performance gaps).Compliance :
Manage compliance with external and internal requirements, including legislative, regulatory, and permitting.Adhere to Anglo American compliance requirements and ensure teams' compliance within the work area.Conduct site inspections to identify and escalate non-compliance and use systems to monitor and manage non-compliance.Participate in audits, attend close-outs for audit findings, and implement required actions.This role is in the Engineering & Maintenance Plant at a Band 6 level reporting to the Section Manager Planning.
Qualifications :
Grade 12 / N3 TechnicalNational Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (NQF6)SA Drivers License Code BExperience
3-5 years of relevant experience in the AA Operating Model, especially Work Management.5 years of SAP experience.Maintenance and Scheduling experience within the mining industry.Project Management experience will be advantageous.Expert in MS Office Packages.Risk Management techniques.Budgeting tools.
