Job descriptionConduct ongoing situational analysis to identify gaps within the supply chain systemImplement systems and strategies to manage pharmaceutical stock in the clinicsMentor and coach pharmacist assistants and nurses to manage stock and maintain cold chain in the clinicAssist facilities with stock re-distribution and maintaining sufficient stock in the facilityEnsure compliance with good pharmacy practices and good dispensing practicesTrain, Mentor and Support DOH initiatives to provide alternative access to chronic medicines (e.g. Adherence clubs, CCMDD & SyNCH, CDU / PCU, PUP’s) and any other related projectsEnsure medicine safety systems are implemented at facility levelPerform site visits at least dailyFamiliarise self with rules and regulations relating to Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP), Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974, Medicine and related substances Act 101 of 1965, as amended and other relevant legislation.Familiarise self with Right to Care standards, policies and proceduresEnsure availability of provincial primary health care (PHC) pharmacy standard operating procedures (SOPs), Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs) and Essential Medicines List (EML)Ensure that all supported clinics have stock cards and files for managing stockSupport implementation and functionality of pharmaceutical information management systems used in the districtEnsure that stock management files and records are available at facilitiesDocumentation and reporting of discrepancies from suppliersAssist the facilities to maintain data and ensure accurate statistics
