• The role : To direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in performing a variety of production operations aimed at achieving planned production targets.

Ensure the effective use of available resources in a safe and sustainable manner.Responsibilities will include but not limited to : Responsible for drilling and blasting activities at the mineEnsures the effective management of employees to achieve all Safety, Health, Environmental, Planning and Production targetsLegal responsibility for all activities under his / her control with regards to safetyCommunicates all relevant legal and operational policies, procedures, standards and guidelines and ensures that these are implemented and followedEnsure that operational planning and production targets are achievedDevelops and maintains constructive working relationships with peers, subordinates and contractorsMeeting production targets with strict adherence to maintenance and production schedulesRequirements : Grade 12 Mathematics or Math Literacy, English, NQF Level 4 Further Education and Training Certificate in Mining Operations with DMRE Opencast Blasting certificate or Mining Engineering (BSc Eng, B Tech or Advanced Diploma, B Eng., National Diploma in Coal Mining / Engineering)Minimum of 4 years appointed as a mining foreman in a production environmentSound knowledge of Safety Systems, Regulations and Standards with high regard for safety and good safety recordGood managerial, supervisory, analytical, communication and interpersonal skillsIn-depth knowledge of mining methods, mining, and environmental legislationProficiency in MS Office Suite & SAPValid driver's licenseIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of FitnessAdvantageous : Experience in Drill and Blast activitiesActing experience as a Mine OverseerMOC / Mining Intern Programme completedCoaching and mentoring trainingPlease note : Please use Google Chrome as default browser when applying to enable the attachment of documentsA CV with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of relevant qualifications, together with ID document & valid driver's license must be accompanied with your applicationAppointments will be made in line with Employment Equity targetsAll applicants are thanked for their interestApplications which have not been responded to within 30 days of closing date should be regarded as unsuccessfulCommunication will be with shortlisted candidates only
