Junior Mechanical Engineer

Role Summary

We seek an enthusiastic Junior Chemical Engineer OR Mechanical to support the development, delivery, and refinement of sustainable water system designs. This entry-level role contributes to efficient water use and environmental responsibility, aligned with

#SurplusWater2025. Under senior guidance, you'll collaborate on projects, learn innovative technologies, and grow toward professional registration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support Sustainable Water Management Design Solutions

• Assist in creating cost-effective, compliant wet services  designs meeting client needs, SANS standards (e.g., SANS 10252-1, SANS 241, SANS10400), municipal by-laws, and environmental regulations
• Collaborate on contracts, drawings, bills of quantities, and software like Autodesk Revit and Inventor for coordinated outcomes
• Help with hydraulic calculations and system sizing to optimize efficiency
• Learn about sustainable water technologies and practices

2. Contribute to Project Excellence and Client Value

3. Progress Toward Professional Engineering Registration

4. Explore Innovation in Water-Saving Technologies

Qualifications and Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in Chemical OR Mechanical EngineeringÂ

● 0-2 years of experience; internships in water systems preferred

● Basic knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Inventor, and hydraulic tools.

● Familiarity with SANS standards and by-laws

● Interest in ECSA registration

● Exposure to AI or water tech advantageous
