General Manager – Mining Operations (Platinum)

Our client, a premier global producer in the Platinum Group Metals (PGM) sector, is seeking a strategic and results-driven General Manager to lead their flagship underground mining operation. This is a pivotal leadership role with full P&L and operational accountability, offering the challenge and autonomy to significantly impact the company's future performance and strategic direction.

Requirements

• B Degree / B Tech in Mining Engineering (Essential)
• Valid Blasting Certificate and Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (Essential)
• A management development qualification (e.g., MBA, Leadership Diploma) is essential
• Minimum of 15 years of mining experience, with a proven track record including : 5 years as a Mine Manager;3 years as a Mine Overseer;2 years as a Shift Supervisor
• In-depth, hands‑on knowledge across all underground mining disciplines : Stopping, Development, Shafts, Survey, Ventilation, Rock Engineering, and Geology
• Strong business acumen with exposure to project management, accounting principles, and engineering
