PURPOSE OF THE JOB : To ensure that optimal inventory levels are maintained at the Shaft Satellite store, and to supervise all activities in the Shaft Satellite Store, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS :
- Grade 12 certificate with Accounting and Maths (NQF Level 4) is essential.
- NQF 5 Higher Certificate in Logistics Management or studying towards is essential.
- SAP Material module (Physical Supply Chain) is essential.
- A tertiary qualification / Diploma in Logistics or Materials Management (NFQ 6) is desirable.
- 2 years experience in material management is essential.
- 2 years as a supervisor in Logistics or Materials Management or related functions is desirable.
COMPETENCIES :
Safety : Basic health and safety principles in and around the workplace.Customer Service : Awareness of customer service.Legislation : Knowledge of the Mines Health and Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.Product and Process Knowledge : Materials management, inventory control, logistics, and distribution.Accounting : Basic accounting concepts.Knowledge of inventory management systems.People Supervision : Apply basic human resources practices and supervise stock counts.Ability to manage a team and motivate them to achieve desired results.KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS :
Processes daily Reservation requirements and prepares loading of materials to users underground.Resolves end-user queries and expedite outstanding requests from the Main Stores.Update stock count schedules and material classifications as and when required.Allocates cycle counts and control redundant / obsolete stock and waste and communicate to Inventory MRP Planner.Ensures integrity and compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards.Investigates material non-conformances and record them according to the procedure.Checks on the quality and accuracy of work and maintain admin systems and information.Collaborate with Mine overseers and Engineering to determine needs.Coordinating and supervising receiving and warehousing activities in line with the defined proceduresControls inventory levels and ensuring availability of material during emergencies.Detects and prevents fraud.Manages the team, plan, allocate, and assess work.Ensures discipline is maintained in the department (absenteeism, time management, overtime, misconduct, etc.).Resolves grievances and disputes and support and guide individuals.Conducts on-the-job coaching and training.Our people set us apart and make us a winning team we are excited to have someone new join our ranks
