Senior Finance Manager

PBT Group is seeking an experienced and self-driven Senior Finance Manager to support the Financial Management function within a leading financial services environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial operations, reporting, and controls within a regulated industry.

This position requires strong technical accounting expertise within the insurance or financial services sector , coupled with the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing month-end processes.
• Preparing financial statements.
• Executing assigned financial tasks independently.
• Manage the full financial close cycle, ensuring compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and timelines.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and regulatory submissions (e.g., FSCA, SARS, Prudential Authority).
• Oversee reconciliations for premiums, claims, reinsurance, and broker accounts .
• Support the implementation and monitoring of IFRS 17 and other evolving financial reporting frameworks.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, and claims teams to ensure financial accuracy and data integrity.
• Identify and resolve financial discrepancies and inefficiencies while maintaining robust internal controls.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis .
• Support internal and external audits , liaising effectively with auditors and relevant regulatory bodies.
