Type of appointment :

Independent Contractor (part-time; flexible workhours agreement)

Purpose :

• To lecture Humanities‑related modules, in the faculty on a part‑time (contractual) basis.
• To assist in the administration and departmental affairs and activities as required by the academic department.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum qualifications required :

BA Honours in Linguistics and / or Communications sciences or a relevant qualification (A Masters qualification will be an advantage)

Experience :

Minimum : 1 - 2 years relevant lecturing experience

Necessary knowledge of higher education practices and processes

Relevant research experience

Senior Lecturer : Speech Language Pathology (1 post)

Professional registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa in the category of Speech Therapist / Speech Therapist & Audiologist

At least 3 years' experience in higher education

Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Speech Language Pathology

A record of accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer

Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters / Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer
