Job description

A leading supplier of electrical and solar products is looking for a Senior Field Technician to join their team in Durban. This role requires a handson technical professional with expertise in electrical and / or electronic systems particularly inverters batteries and renewable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installations troubleshooting and onsite support while ensuring excellent service delivery to clients.

Key Responsibilities :

Install maintain and repair electrical and solar power systems including inverters and battery storage solutions.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues onsite to minimize downtime for clients.
Conduct system inspections performance testing and preventative maintenance.
Provide technical support and training to clients regarding product usage and troubleshooting.
Maintain accurate records of service visits repairs and client interactions.
Collaborate with internal teams to report technical issues and suggest product improvements.
Ensure all work complies with industry regulations and company standards.
Travel to client sites as required with flexibility in scheduling.

Requirements :

Experience : Proven experience in electrical and / or electronic systems preferably within the renewable energy sector.

Knowledge : Familiarity with inverters batteries and solar energy solutions.

Technical Skills : Strong problemsolving ability and attention to detail.

Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with clients.

Flexibility : Willingness to travel frequently and adapt to varying schedules.

License & Vehicle : Valid drivers license and access to a reliable working vehicle.

Work Ethic : Reliability precision and a proactive approach to work.

Own reliable transport

Preferred Qualifications :

Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering Electronics Renewable Energy or a related field.

Previous experience as a field technician in the electrical or solar industry.

Additional training or certifications in solar installations inverters or battery systems would be an advantage.
