The Projects Manager is responsible for providing consistent project coordination for assigned Singita group projects, including new and renovation development projects. The role facilitates a well-resourced project, as well as managing relationships with all project contributors.
The primary purpose of the Project Manager is to support the head of the project to ensure the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the required brand standard of quality. SMC stakeholders should be kept abreast of progress and risks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate assigned projects with direction from the General Manager : Development.
- Managing coordination of the partners and working groups engaged in the project.
- Detailed project planning and control, including :
- Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan.
- Managing project deliverables (deadlines) in line with the project plan.
- Recording and managing project concerns and escalating where necessary.
- Resolving cross-functional issues.
- Summarizing and monitoring project progress and performance.
- Prepare drafts of status reports, minutes and site reports.
- Dissemination of activities.
- Managing consultancy input within defined budget constraints.
- Liaise on final approval of the design specifications.
- Document with active archiving. Create full handover files.
- Arrange project meetings, design sessions and site meetings.
- Coordinate installations, travel and logistics.
Skills & Experience
A minimum of 2 years work experience in a project managing role.Tertiary qualification would be preferable : Project Management or similar.Good computer literacy. Proficient in MS Office, MS Projects is advantageous. Gantt charts and programming.High attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, particularly in building and maintaining sound working relationships.Assertiveness, patience and good organisational skills and data management.Financial acumen and cost control.Lodge / hospitality experience would be advantageous.Ability to thrive under pressure.Highly motivated and self-directed.Reflect a professional image.An ability to build and maintain relationships.Strong attention to detail.Passionate or interest in conservation.Seniority level
