Senior Data Analyst Education (3-year fixed term contract) Johannesburg

Duties & Responsibilities

Our client NPO in Education is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join their team on a 3-year fixed term contract. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven systems-oriented professional to work at the intersection of education data and public sector support. The ideal candidate will be a skilled relationship-builder a patient and strategic thinker and an experienced project manager with a strong grasp of data systems and / or technology for development. The role requires hands-on expertise in data collection and analysis the ability to communicate data insights effectively to diverse audiences and the skill to strengthen the capacity of government partners and colleagues.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualification :

Minimum of an Honours degree or equivalent in Economics Education Health Public Policy Data Science International Development Computer Science or a related field.

Experience

Experience :

• 5 8 years of experience in project management public sector support education public health or technology solution development.
• Hands-on technical fluency in data analysis and digital tools (e.g. Stata R SurveyCTO Power BI or similar) including the ability to independently analyse visualise and interpret complex datasets.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical audiences and build capacity in data literacy.
• Demonstrated ability to work in complex dynamic and evolving environments with a focus on impact and results
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work sensitively within government systems.
• Experience working with data systems or technology for development.
• Background in monitoring & evaluation and education assessments (e.g. EGRA EGMA) is a benefit
• Proficiency in an official South African language other than English (e.g. isiZulu seSotho) is a distinct benefit
• Valid Drivers License
• Willing to travel to other provinces
