The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an experienced Dimensional Management Engineer located in Hazelwood, MO.

Role and Responsibilities

Dimensional Management Engineering is used to identify dimensional requirements and objectives, decompose them to measurements, and apply variation analysis tools to link measurements to detail part feature variation. Requirements are typically system level and customer defined. Objectives are typically building objectives identified by production engineering to reduce product cost and increase product quality.

In this role, you will apply the dimensional management engineering process on programs, use variation analysis tools, and help develop, maintain, and train dimensional management engineering processes, tool use, and tolerance application (GD&T).

Position Responsibilities :

  • Work with Systems Engineering to identify and decompose dimensional requirements and objectives to measurements.
  • Perform variation analysis to link measurements with product definition geometry, datums, tolerances, locating methods, and assembly sequences.
  • Utilize experts to consider manufacturing process capability.
  • Coordinate dimensional requirements across internal and external team members.
  • Ensure the analysis reflects the design definition, build plan, and tool design.
  • Recommend changes to design definition, build plan, and tool design to meet dimensional requirements and objectives.
  • Evaluate manufacturing data to confirm analysis and influence change proposals to achieve robust variation controls.
  • Provide input to the program plan to ensure timely incorporation of dimensional management activities and deliverables.
  • Write or support documentation such as dimensional management plan, variation analysis reports, datum and tolerance guides, and measurement plan.
  • Serve as project consultant for dimensional management engineering.
  • Work Location and Security

    This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed location options. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite.

    This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Level 3 : 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
  • Level 3 : 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 3+ years of additional work experience or a PhD.
  • Level 4 : 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 7+ years of work-related experience or a PhD with 4+ years.
  • Experience performing variation analysis (1D or 3D) on structures or assemblies.
  • Training and / or practical experience with the application and interpretation of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Willing to relocate to St. Louis, MO
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with understanding of determinate assembly methodologies
  • Knowledge of 3D variation analysis software (Siemens VSA)
  • Experience using NX / Teamcenter or CATIA / ENOVIA methods and tools
  • Education / Experience Levels :

    Level 2 : Education / experience typically via Bachelor-level engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry with 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent. ABET is not required but may be relevant in the USA.

    Level 3 : Education / experience typical of Bachelor or higher with 5+ years of related work experience or equivalent.

    Level 4 : Education / experience typical of Bachelor or higher with 9+ years of related work experience or equivalent.

    Relocation : This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

    Total Rewards : Boeing offers a Total Rewards package including base pay, variable compensation, and benefits such as health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid / unpaid time away, with program options varying by location and eligibility.

    Summary pay range :

    Level 2 : $75,650 - $102,350

    Level 3 : $90,100 - $121,900

    Level 4 : $113,050 - $152,950

    Export Control : This position must meet export control requirements. A U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.

    Education : Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required
